Park it like it's hot

You know what really grinds my gears? When people park with complete disregard for others. It really isn't that hard--park your car between the lines. Personally, I don't even care if they park all that straight as long as every part of the car is within the lines.

Tonight I went to park outside my apartment and I drove by a perfectly good spot because at first I didn't see it. Then, I came back around after a friend of mine drove past it. I thought to myself, "Where is she going? Why didn't she take that spot?" When I finally got back to the spot I realized it was because some jerk parked their Explorer completely over the line. Fortunately, my 1994 Corolla can fit into virtually any spot--that and I can park on a dime, but that's another story.

In Ithaca, parallel parking is fairly common. Last week I was looking for a place to park on the street and someone left their CR-V diagonal in the space. They were literally at like a 45 degree angle to the car behind them and poking out into the street leaving about three feet of space on the right side of the road.

In both scenarios, the cars did not have Jersey license plates. So, you can rip on us for how we drive but at least we keep simple parking rules in mind.

i had to be at an appointment 15 mins after my class, so i hauled ass and ran to my car only to find that someone's car had broken down BEHIND MY CAR blocking me into the spot. it was so tremendously irritating.
