I know I'm kind of late on this one, but it's finally that time of year again. Mascots are fighting, No. 12 seeds are winning and everyone's brackets are a mess--it's March Madness and though it's chaotic, it's beautiful.
After day one of games, I was 14 of 16 and I had a few of the upsets. I had Maryland beating Cal, I had Michigan over Clemson and I had Western Kentucky upsetting Illinois in one of my brackets. But, I'm an idiot and made four different brackets that are all over the place with only one thing in common--the national champion, UNC.
My bracket went to hell on day two after the Midwest bracket was full of ridiculousness. Arizona vs. Cleveland State? Who had that? I mean, honestly.
Anyway, I think in some ways I got upset-happy (I know this seems like an oxymoron but what I mean is I got kind of obsessed with upsets), but I picked a bunch of the wrong ones. I was so sold on Mississippi State beating Washington and they ended up getting crushed, I had VCU over UCLA and it was a one-point game. Those games are really tough to pick. Now that day three of action is over, I already have two of my Elite Eight picks out.
So, in conclusion, it's unpredictable, it makes me cry, but I love it.
