I never watch television anymore. Besides not having the time, I just don't have the desire to watch any of these shows. Like, the other night I was at the movies to see All About Steve (such an awful film that it was almost good), and this preview came up about a politician who cheated on his good looking wife. The camera zooms in on the pretty brunette with a string of pearls around her neck. She looks shocked and alone. Will she cry or smile and battle on? Instead, she slaps her husband and we are then told we'll find out more this fall. Because it's a TV show. Not a motion picture. Not a Lifetime movie. A television show on basic cable. Whaaaat? How will that be a full season of television? and if so, what the frig will it even be about?
But it's not even the new shows. Grey's Anatomy was my favorite show in high school. I thought everyone in my life was a Grey's character, and I myself was Cristina Yang looking for Preston Burke. Grey's stopped being my fave when Meredith died but came back to life (if anyone was going to come back to life, why not Doc the dog?) Grey's starts tonight again apparently with a dramatic beginning (George is dead. Contract negotiations do not allow you to come back to life).
Who even watches these shows anymore? (Actually, this afternoon when my mother called to remind me that Grey's was on tonight, she then also said she was excited to see The Good Wife). Anyway, if you happen to watch Grey's tonight, let me know if Izzie dies from skin cancer.
